JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Nicholasville Police admit that they have seen multiple reports of a suspicious vehicle trying to lure children, but they had a message for Jessamine County residents: call them.
One incident was reported in the Garden Park area and is being investigated. Officers had some advice for those sharing these types of posts.
"Everyone wants to know why we have not caught this person, well the best answer I can give is people have been calling others and posting to social media instead of calling the police," read a post on the agency's page. "The best chance we have to apprehend someone is to be able to respond to the location immediately after it has happened, not a day later as some have done."
Officers said they were aware of the other reported incidents on social media, but urged people who see something to come forward immediately.
"We would rather respond to something that turns out not to be a crime," reads the statement.
