BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — The parents of a two year-old girl are in jail after the child was found walking in the middle of a road wearing only a diaper.
26 year-old Robert Allen Williams and 21 year-old Patsy Murley are each charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.
Police say the outside temperature in Barbourville, Knox County, was 41 degrees yesterday when the little girl was found, and she was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The parents told police they had been asleep, and didn't know the girl had gotten out of the house.
Social workers told police that a similar incident happened last month.
Police say the parents were also given a drug screen and tested positive for marijuana.
The couple's three children were placed in the custody of a relative.
