PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The Pikeville Independent School District is considering whether prayers can be allowed at graduation ceremonies after receiving a letter of complaint from the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

WYMT-TV reports the Wisconsin-based group received complaints following the Pikeville High School Class of 2020′s graduation. In a statement, the foundation says three students from the graduating class led Christian prayers during the ceremony. The group says that “alienates the 38% of younger Americans who are not religious.”

Pikeville Independent Schools Superintendent David Trimble says the district is working with its legal team to “make sure that we’re doing things the appropriate way."
