Police investigating after pedestrian injured in hit-and-run

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hurt in a hit-and-run incident Monday night.

The incident occurred on Georgetown Road between Lima Drive and Keller Court. According to officials, officers were flagged down Monday, March 2 at 8:52 p.m. after a female victim was found in the roadway with injuries.

Witnesses reported the victim was struck by a vehicle that had left the scene. The vehicle is believed to be a red boxy-shaped vehicle. The victim was possibly struck a second time by a black passenger vehicle after she was knocked down into the roadway. It is believed that the driver of the second vehicle was unaware they struck the victim.

Lexington Police is asking anyone who might have been a witness or has any information related to this investigation to contact the department’s Hit and Run Unit at (859) 258-3617.
