LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Louisville's Police Merit Board has delayed a hearing for Brett Hankison, the detective fired for his role in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor.

Hankison was dismissed months after the March raid, for allegedly blindly firing shots into Taylor's apartment during their raid.

Hankison's attorney told the board Tuesday that Hankison is appealing his termination, and asked the board to delay his hearing until the criminal investigation is complete.

The board now plans to reconsider his case in two months.
