President Donald Trump holds a commanding lead in Kentucky over Democratic challenger Joe Biden, according to a recent poll conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy.
Statewide, 56% of likely voters support Trump and 39% back Biden. Trump carried the state by 30 points during the 2016 election season.
Trump leads in most of the state and among all but a few groups. Biden only leads in the Louisville Metro area (55% to 41%), among registered Democrats (67% to 31%) and with voters under the age of 35 (53% to 39%).
Trump is strongest in the rural areas of Eastern Kentucky (66% to 28%) and Western Kentucky (65% to 30%). He also leads by a wide margin among men (59% to 35%) and registered Republicans (88% to 5%).
This poll was created based on calls to 625 Kentucky voters from Oct. 12 through Oct. 15. It has a margin of error of +/-4 percentage points.
