LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two Transylvania University professors have been capturing the stories of people living alone during the pandemic. The stories have been turned into powerful social media posts that have garnered a lot of attention.

Each of these faces tells a story. But the real story, is in the caption.

"One of our friends who is a writer, he wrote a beautiful narrative on just how lonely it had become," Kremena Todorova said.

The stories are about the difficulties of being single and living alone during the pandemic. Two Transylvania University professors have been posting those stories, along with a photo, on social media. Their idea was to give people an easy way to not be hyper-focused on themselves.

"The other option is to turn on the news, which is big national and international conversations, and so there's not a lot of middle ground. Where you can think about and understand the experiences of people who live in the city with you," Kurt Gohde said.

Kremena and Kurt have been capturing people's stories since school closed back in March. The pair says many readers have found comfort in the stories.

"They realize they aren't alone and so if people can feel lonely, because it can feel lonely when you are in a relationship or you have a family and children, it can still feel lonely. And they realize they aren't alone," Todorova said.
