LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Despite a little bit of rain, protests against police brutality are continuing for a seventh straight night in Lexington on Thursday. The protests are in the wake of the recent deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.

Police have placed barricades around the police station and officers are not wearing riot gear.

According to protesters, a caravan protest is planned for Friday at 4:30 in honor of Breonna Taylor’s 27th birthday. There is also a plan for people to travel to Louisville tomorrow to march in solidarity.

At one point, a crowd of protesters stayed silent for nine minutes in honor of the nearly nine minutes George Floyd was held down by a police officer.
