LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Red Mile Gaming and Racing in Lexington is suspending operations for the next 14 days.

During his news conference Sunday afternoon, Governor Andy Beshear said to expect news from Red Mile shortly. Just after 6:30 Sunday night, the track announced their decision to close temporarily.

The director of marketing says there have been no cases of COVID-19 at Red Mile, but this decision was made to ensure the safety of the employees and the community.

The current plan is to reopen on Monday, March 30, and to continue monitoring the situation.
