(LEX 18) — The Republican Party of Kentucky filed a complaint against Amy McGrath's campaign, alleging violations of the Federal Election Campaign Act and Federal Election Commission regulations.

According to a press release on behalf of the Republican Party of Kentucky, the organization is filing a complaint against Amy McGrath for Senate, its treasurer Chris Patton and campaign manager Mark Nickolas.

The complaint alleges that Nickolas, "knowingly and willfully solicited illegal soft money contributions for a pro-McGrath super PAC." The RPK alleges that he also solicited funds "in excess of the legal limits" for a super PAC.

The Republican Party of Kentucky is asking for an immediate investigation.

LEX 18 spoke with Mark Nickolas who called the release, "A laughable complaint by partisan hacks who can’t believe we have the audacity to fight them using the rules they created."
