BATH COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Rescue team members in Bath County say they helped bring a woman to safety after her kayak had overturned.

This happened on the Licking River on Sunday afternoon according to the Salt Like Fire/Rescue Dept. Facebook page.

The post reads that this was the department's second water rescue call on the river this weekend.

The kayaker was holding onto a tree when crews arrived. They were able to rescue her and bring her back to land.

Salt Lick Fire and Rescue, Farmers FD, and Bath County EMS responders all helped with the rescue.
