Richmond Mayor gets struck by car, still makes it to meeting

(LEX 18) — Richmond Mayor Robert Blythe proceeded through his city commission meeting before revealing that he had been struck by a car before the meeting began.

Blythe was struck by a car moments before the city commissioners were set to meet. He didn't tell anyone and walked in to the meeting to give a presentation.

The driver who hit him did not stop. The commissioners encouraged Blythe to go to the ER. By all appearances, according to a member of his staff, Blythe seems to be fine and is only complaining about a sore hip.

The moment he nonchalantly told the council that he was struck by a car, was captured on camera during a Facebook live. The video can be viewed below.
