BRODHEAD, Ky. (LEX 18) — One person is dead and two juveniles have been taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Brindle Ridge Road in Rockcastle County, according to Kentucky State Police Trooper Scottie Pennington.

KSP says a 2015 Blue Ford F250 driven by a male juvenile, with a juvenile passenger, was traveling south on Brindle Ridge Road when he crossed a double yellow line into the northbound lane. According to KSP, the driver hit a 2005 Dodge Neon head-on, driven by 21-year-old Jacob Madden of Berea.

KSP says Madden was entrapped in his vehicle and suffered fatal injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Rockcastle County Coroner.

The two juveniles were taken to the Rockcastle Regional Hospital and are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to KSP.

This is an ongoing investigation.
