Salato Wildlife Center reopens March 3

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort reopens for the season on March 3, 2020.

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources operates the Salato Wildlife Center as part of its mission to inform and educate the public about the state's native wildlife, as well as hunting and fishing opportunities. The facility provides indoor and outdoor viewing opportunities for a variety of wildlife, including a bear, eagle, bobcat, deer, bison, birds of prey, and more.

Salato offers entertaining educational programs and activities throughout the season that utilize the center's collection of live wildlife. Popular examples include public wildlife training and feedings, enrichment programs and raptor encounters.

Salato Wildlife Centers hours of operation: Tuesday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday is closed and state state holidays.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for youth 5-18. Children younger than 5 are admitted free. The center also offers annual membership for individuals and families.
