LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Nicholas Sandmann, the former Covington Catholic student and now Transylvania student whose face-off with a Native American activist in Washington D.C. in 2019 caught major traction on social media, has fired his lawyer Lin Wood. Sandmann announced the firing on Twitter on Monday.
Lin Wood has been terminated as counsel at this time. His comments about me are untrue, unfair, and unfounded.

Wood represented Sandmann in a series of defamation lawsuits that accused media companies such as CNN and the Washington Post of inaccurately portraying the face-off.
Sandmann continues to be represented by Kentucky-based lawyer Todd McMurtry.
