The governor's office has released the COVID-19 totals from Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and December 26.
On Saturday, 764 new cases were reported, raising the total to 255,563.
Four new deaths were also reported. The positivity rate is currently 8.04%.
As of Saturday's report, there are 1,511 people in the hospital from the virus, which is down from a reported 1,689 patients on Christmas Eve.
396 of the current patients are in the ICU and 237 are using a ventilator.
On Thursday, Christmas Eve, Governor Beshear reported 2,742 new cases. 53 deaths were also reported that day.
“The number of deaths we’re announcing today is truly heartbreaking – another wake-up call. But one piece of good news is that our positivity rate continues to decline. It was even under eight percent on Christmas Day,” said Gov. Beshear. “That means our sacrifices are making a difference. Thank you for doing the holidays differently this year to protect each other. Let’s keep working hard so we don’t have more days like today where we have to announce we’ve lost so many of our neighbors, family and friends.”
On Friday, Christmas Day, 1,803 new cases and 11 more deaths were reported.
