MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — It has been one year since missing 23-year-old Savannah Spurlock's remains were found outside of a home in Garrard County.

The Madison County mother of four disappeared from "The Other Bar" in Lexington on January 4, 2019. She was seen on surveillance video leaving with two men, one of which was later identified as David Sparks. Her remains were found six months later, and Sparks was charged in her murder.

LEX 18 News reached out to the family to ask how the boys are doing one year later.

"Savannah's boys are full of their mama's energy," a family member tells LEX 18 News. "The twinkle in their eyes and their adventurous spirits as they embrace each day to its fullest. They try to visit her when they can, and we share our beautiful memories of her with them. They have brought so much joy in this season of grief. We can hear her voice cheering them on."

During his arraignment in September, Sparks entered a plea of not guilty on all charges.
