LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Beloved local restaurateur Mamadou Savané is ready to open up his newest incarnation for his popular West African Cuisine.
Savané, best known as Sav, closed his South Limestone location in June after 11 years. He implied at the time that something bigger and better was coming along.
Lexington rallied around the restaurant owner after he suffered severe burns from dropping boiling peanut oil on himself in a 2014 workplace accident. Fans of the restaurant raised over $50,000 for medical bills and expenses related to running the business in his absence.
Sav's Restaurant will open Dec. 8. It is located in the former Subway on E. Main Street.
