87-year-old man killed in pedestrian involved 2-vehicle collision in London

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office detailed that an 87-year-old man was killed when two vehicles reportedly struck him on US 25 Monday night.

Officials detailed that the sheriff's office investigated a collision involving a pedestrian that occurred around 6 miles south of London. Investigators believe that a pedestrian entered the travel lane in front of a Ford expedition traveling northbound, when the individual was hit.

A vehicle behind the Ford reportedly then also hit the pedestrian. The injured person, identified as 87-year-old Edward E. Queen, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials added.

Officials report that the section of US 25 near Lily in Laurel County that was closed for several hours due to a fatal collision is back open.

A section of US 25 near Lily in Laurel County is closed following a fatal collision Monday evening, police report.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, the collision was reported around 9:10 p.m., and the roadway will remain closed for approximately two to three hours.

At the time, "sheriff's reconstructionist" was en route to the scene.
