Sheriff: Homeowner holds burglary suspect at gunpoint

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Clay County man is in custody after sheriff's officials say a homeowner held him at gunpoint during an alleged burglary.

According to a post by the Clay County Sheriff's Office, Johnathan Sizemore was taken into custody following a break-in at a home on Paces Creek Road.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that Sizemore was caught in the act by the homeowner, who confronted him with a weapon and held him until authorities arrived.

Officers said the suspect appeared intoxicated and acknowledged to using methamphetamine earlier the same day.

He was taken into custody and charged with burglary and public intoxication of a controlled substance.
