(LEX 18) — Across the country, people are remembering Breonna Taylor on what would have been her 27th birthday.
Taylor was killed when Louisville Metro Police Officers, who were conducting a "no knock" warrant, shot her in her home in March.
Her family has called for the three officers involved to be fired and charged.
on Friday in Lousiville, events were held in her honor. In Lexington, a caravan protest called for justice in her case.
A national social media campaign using the hashtag #birthdayforBreonna also called on people across the country to join the fight for justice.
As of Friday evening, the hashtag had over 36,000 posts on instagram. The campaign, organized by writer Cate Young, provides links for people to sign a petition calling for justice for Taylor, donate to her family and write an email to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, Attorney General Daniel Cameron and Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer.
