HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A woman says she lost almost everything she owns in a weekend fire in Henderson County, but thanks to firefighters she was able to save the remains of her late son.
Lynn Dills said her son Alan was killed almost 10 years ago in a car accident.
While Dills was able to escape the apartment complex fire Saturday morning, she was unable to grab any of her belongings.
Dills said she has firefighters to thank for her not losing her son a second time.
She said she hadn't touched the box that holds her son's ashes in years before getting them back that morning.
