LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — As we approach Black History Month, two local organizations are hoping to make the issue of racism a year-round conversation.
Compassionate Lexington and Believing in Forever have created yard signs to spread the message of love to Lexington.
The signs feature a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The money raised from the project will go to a mobile library, called the "Luna Library," created by Devine Carama.
"This time we chose the Martin Luther King quote, 'Stick with love because hate is too much of a burden to bear.' And we just felt with all the division and the hate going on in our country right now we felt that that was a great message," said Carama.
The Luna Library gives African American books to the younger generation to start a conversation about overcoming racism.
