LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Shoppers are stocking up before the snowstorm comes in on Sunday night and into Monday morning.

Reports estimate that when it's over Lexington will have received around 4 to 6 inches of snow.

LEX18 spoke to grocery shoppers at Critchfield Meats as they grab last-minute items.

"If we have to yes, I'm ready. Wood, groceries I got it all, they say it's going to get bad," says Maria Robinson.

Store manager, Anthony Critchfield says it's pretty typical to have an influx of shoppers before a storm, but because it's also Valentine's Day weekend they are even busier since they also have couples opting to cook from home this year to stay safe during the pandemic.

"We have specials going on for like filet mignon and lobster tail, so we've been having a lot of people coming in for that too, but I wasn't expecting it to be this busy, so I think a lot of it is to do a lot with the storm," says Critchfield.

Many of the shoppers we spoke to say they are planning on staying inside as much as possible until the storm passes. "We typically just stay in. I work for a dental office we were closed Thursday, so we might be closed on Monday too," says Angela Carpenter.
