PARIS, Ky. (LEX 18) — Paris Independent Schools Superintendent Stephen McCauley posted to Facebook about a lockdown at Paris High School Wednesday as police investigated "an event" that happened in the community Tuesday night.

McCauley said that it was a "lockdown continue teaching" event which means that the students stay in their classroom and continue learning, but the hallways remain cleared.

Police were at the school during the lockdown.

The post did not clarify what the "event" police were investigating was, but McCauley said at the end of the investigation, officials ended the lockdown and the school returned to normal schedule.
