LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — An annual exercise by the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program will be conducted Wednesday across multiple counties.

Participants from the Bluegrass Army Depot, emergency management agencies, first responders and others will gather at the Madison County Emergency Operations Center for the exercise.

It will help prepare officials for what to do in the event of a chemical release.

In Fayette County, teams will gather in Jacobson Park -- which will be closed to the public Wednesday -- for training from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
