LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lance Newby was only 29 years old when on November 11, 2011, an SUV hit him while he was trying to catch a bus on Winburn Drive in Lexington.

The driver never stopped, and Newby died shortly after.

"They ran my son over and just kept going like it was nothing like it's okay to do that," said Newby's mother, Jennifer Stigall.

It's now nine years later and Stigall's desire for justice has never wavered.

"If there's anyone out there could you please come forward and let us know so we can get some justice and closure? Because right now, there's no closure," she says.

Police have never been able to locate the SUV or driver, leaving Newby's family heartbroken.

"It really hurts, and it really hurts when I come and look at that street where they hit him," Stigall said. "The person that ran my son over, you should come forward because you wouldn't want anyone to do your son or your nephew or family member like that."

His family knows nothing will bring him back, but they hope this plea at least strikes a nerve.
