LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX News) — A longtime Lexington coffee shop is closing its doors for good.

Third Street Stuff & Coffee on North Limestone announced on social media that it will not reopen following what was described as a transition period in June.

“Third Street Stuff has made the difficult decision to close permanently,” the post said. “We will miss the community and very much appreciate everyone’s support. Thank you so much for letting us be part of your story.”

The announcement comes months after owner Pat Gerhard said she planned to retire and that new owners would take over the business.

Third Street Stuff had been a longtime fixture in Lexington, serving coffee and food while also hosting live music and community events. The shop became known as a gathering place for students, artists and local residents.

No additional details were provided about why the transition did not move forward.

Customers and community members shared messages of gratitude and support on social media following the announcement.
