GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — Following an announcement that it would cease production until Tuesday, Toyota in Georgetown has announced that the company will cease production for 10 days due to the novel coronavirus.
Rick Hesterberg confirmed to LEX 18 Wednesday that it would cease production over the weekend and pay employees. On Thursday, the lines shut down early and employees learned they would be stopping production for 10 days out of safety concerns. The plan is to resume production Apr. 6. All employees will be paid.
Toyota is expected to make an announcement at 3:30 p.m. LEX 18 will update this story with more information at that time.
