LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A new year of UK basketball is upon us, and on Friday night, True Blue fans got their first taste of the madness.
Fans tell us it was another successful Big Blue Madness at Rupp Arena that left them excited for this season.
"Everybody was loud. As soon as the players came out, coach came out, it erupted," said Kenneth Walker.
"I liked the cheerleaders, and then I also loved when they do the videos of all the boys, all the players. And everyone's just cheering and all that. I love it," said Madison Sutherland.
Another fan favorite was a performance of "Old Town Road" by UK Women's Head Coach, Matthew Mitchell.
True Blue fans were also given blue and white lights to make a real impact for those player intros.
For some, like freshman Kendall Davenport, it was the first time at Big Blue Madness.
"It was really nice. I felt very welcome, especially being from Chicago," said Kendall Davenport.
As they walked out, True Blue fans told us they came away from feeling so excited for this season, and as Coach Cal said, "It's on!"
