LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Rickhouse Pub in the Distillery District is hosting a two-day benefit concert to honor siblings Hailey and Andrew Smith.
The two were killed in a head-on crash nearly three weeks ago.
Eleven bands and artists will play live music on both Saturday and Sunday, including Nightshade.
"It's never easy to lose someone you love and while we can't take away the pain of this tragic situation, we hope we can ease the pain with what we can do as musicians, you know?" Nicola Cassetta, of Nightshade, said.
There will also be a silent auction on Sunday.
All of the proceeds will go to Zoey, Hailey Smith's one-year-old daughter.
"It takes a lot to raise a one-year-old," event organizer Tanya Wise said. "They're going to incur costs for school and college, so we're just hoping to raise enough money where she can maybe put some money into savings or a college fund."
The pre-party is Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The main event is Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Rickhouse Pub is still collecting donations for the silent auction. They are also collecting any cash donations for those who cannot make it out this weekend.
You can also donate online here.
