LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Thousands of UK students have descended on Lexington for another school year.

Saturday was move-in day on campus and about 1,500 students got settled into their dorms.

With record first year enrollment and retention rates, hundreds of students found themselves without a bed assignment as recently as last month. but after some back and forth, officials reached an resolution with the hall of resident advisers.

"Most of us have freshmen students as our roommates, so it'd be more of a mentor ship than anything else...so it's a great challenge, and I think as a staff and Res Life we're definitely up for it,” said RA Dominic Adducci.
