ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A 23-year-old man was killed when his vehicle crashed off a highway into water early Thursday morning in Rockcastle County.
Officials with the Mount Vernon Fire Department said a 1999 Dodge Q15, driven by Shawn H. Smith, was traveling southbound on Interstate Highway 75 near Flat Gap Road at about 12:50 a.m. "when it left the roadway and came to a rest partially submerged in water."
The Rockcastle County Coroner pronounced Smith dead at the scene.
Kentucky State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
