3 injured when 5 vehicles crash on north side of Georgetown

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Emergency crews were working the scene of a multi-vehicle crash early Monday that has shut down a busy road on Georgetown's north side.

Authorities said several vehicles crashed after 6 a.m. on Cynthiana Road about a quarter mile past Happy Lane.

Scott County Sheriff's Deputies said five vehicles were involved and at least three people were sent to area hospitals for treatment.

The severity of the injuries and condition of the victims were not immediately disclosed.

Cynthiana Road was shut down as crews responded, but was reopened to traffic around 7:15 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
