BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX NEWS) — The Millersburg food pantry is in crisis; they're low on supplies and in desperate need of refrigeration.
In the town of 819 people, food pantry director Arlo Pendragon says 31% of residents are at or below the poverty line.
"We have to take care of each other, that's what we do here," said Pendragon.
They're asking for a donation of a commercial refrigerator. Currently they have two small deep freezers.
"We are very limited on what fresh food we can provide right now," said Pendragon.
They offer food boxes once a month, and if someone has a transportation need, they deliver on a case-by-case basis. They also offer basic necessities like some toiletries and laundry detergent.
Donations can be dropped off anytime at the Millersburg Civic Center on Main Street. Contact the city office at 859-484-3901 if you are able to provide a refrigerator or would like information on how to donate monetarily.
