ANDERSON CO., Ky. (LEX 18) — Colton Willard has been sentenced to a maximum of five years in prison after pleading guilty to reckless homicide and fetal homicide.

Willard pleaded guilty in the death of Kaytlynn Doss, 18, who was carrying their unborn daughter when the vehicle they were in crashed in May of 2018 on U.S. 127 near the Valero gas station.

According to The Anderson News, Willard spoke before he was sentenced, saying he would do “anything” to trade places with Moss and that he didn’t mean to hurt her or her family.

When asked by his attorney if he had anything to say to Moss’ family, Willard shook his head no.

“Are you sorry?” his attorney asked, to which Willard nodded his head.

“Say it,” the attorney said.

“Sorry,” Willard replied.

Willard’s attorney, who called the incident a tragic accident, pleaded with Circuit Court Judge Charles Hickman to allow his client to be placed on probation instead of going to jail.
