WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Rescue crews aided a hiker who suffered a severe leg injury Monday evening in Red River Gorge.
The rescue operation took place about 6 p.m. near the border between Wolfe and Menifee counties.
Wolfe County Search and Rescue team members said they responded to the short-cut trail to Cloud Splitter, near Campton, where they reported finding the injured woman.
Crew members put her leg in splint and were able to carry her out in a stoke basket.
The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment, although her condition was not disclosed.
