WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Woodford Humane Society needs help to finish fundraising goal

While Christmas is over, the Woodford Humane Society hopes that people are still in the giving spirit. They have until midnight Tuesday to raise more money for their SAVE Matching Fund.

"We have a group of anonymous donors who come together every year to create this pool of matching funds and that sets our goal for the year,” said Beth Oleson, the Marketing Director for the Woodford Humane Society.

This year's goal is $110,700, but Oleson says they are more than $8,000 short. It's community fundraising like this that keeps the humane society running for animals in need.

"The difference between meeting this goal and missing it is the difference of starting 2020 off on a really strong footing and starting off on a really shaky year,” said Oleson.

To qualify for the match campaign, you'll need to donate $100 or more.

"Your gift will be doubled,” said Oleson. “We just have to make that goal through the end of the year."

You can donate anytime online at woodfordhumane.org, mail in a check, or even stop by the adoption center so the staff can thank you in person.
