ATLANTA (LEX 18/AP) — The Mega Millions jackpot is entering record territory after no one matched all the numbers in Tuesday evening’s drawing.

With a new jackpot pegged at $548 million (with a cash option of $309 million), it’s already the eighth richest lottery jackpot on record.

With the promise of a big payout driving ticket sales, the jackpot total is likely to rise even higher ahead of Friday night’s drawing.

The winning numbers in Tuesday’s drawing were: 20-22-39-54-60, Mega Ball: 18, Megaplier: 3.

The chance of winning the Mega Millions jackpot is 1 in about 303 million.

The other major multi-state lottery, Powerball, also has a large jackpot.

The current jackpot for Wednesday night’s drawing is $282 million with a $161 million cash option.

The chase of winning the Powerball jackpot is 1 in about 292 million.
