ATLANTA (LEX 18) — The Mega Millions jackpot has jumped to $667 million ahead of Tuesday night’s drawing.

Officials say the jackpot jumped more than $10 million from the last report because of strong sales. The jackpot has a cash option of $380 million.

The chance of winning the Mega Millions jackpot is 1 in about 303 million.

The staggering payout is among the richest jackpots in lottery history: It is now the largest Mega Millions jackpot ever and the third biggest U.S. jackpot in lottery history.

The largest jackpot was a $1,586,400,000 Powerball jackpot split by three winning tickets in January of 2016.

And Mega Millions isn’t the only huge multi-state lottery jackpot up for grabs this week.

The Powerball jackpot now stands at $345 million with a cash option of $199 million.

The next drawing for Powerball is Wednesday evening.

The chase of winning the Powerball jackpot is 1 in about 292 million.
