(NBC SPORTS) — According to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times, Mike Ditka was hospitalized in Florida earlier this week.
Ditka was playing golf on Wednesday and was taken to a hospital in Naples, Fla., after complaining he was not feeling well. The report added that Ditka was treated for a heart-related ailment.
Ditka turned 79 last month and had a heart attack while coaching the Bears in 1988 and also had a stroke in 2012.
Ditka is one of the most iconic figures in Bears history for coaching the team to its only Super Bowl title in the 1985 season.
