Police Responding To ‘Active Shooter Situation’ At Illinois Hotel

ROCKFORD, Ill. (NBC News)– Authorities have responded to an active shooter situation at a hotel in Rockford, Illinois.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said in a tweet just before 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, they were on the scene of an “active shooter situation.”

The Rockford Police Department said the incident is unfolding at an Extended Stay America hotel off N. Bell School Road.

Residents were advised to avoid the area.
