SOUR LAKE, Texas (CNN)– A man who seriously injured a Texas police officer Monday night is facing several charges.
Officials say this man is a transient from Kentucky.
It all started in Sour Lake, which is about one hour outside Houston, when a service station clerk asked Bradley Joseph Pruitt to leave but he refused.
Authorities say Pruitt attacked a responding officer, brutally slamming his head into a brick wall.
Then, Pruitt reportedly grabbed the officer’s pistol and threatened to shoot.
Investigators say Pruitt stole the police SUV and sped away before crashing and fleeing on foot.
Officials found the suspect after nearly 10 hours of searching.
At last check, the officer was in critical condition, but he is expected to make a full recovery.
Pruitt is facing several counts of aggravated assault.
