WASHINGTON, D.C. (LEX 18) — President Biden is asking lawmakers to suspend the $0.18 per gallon federal gas tax.

The president wants congress to pause the $0.18 per gallon tax for three months without taking money from the highway trust fund.

A statement from the White House says the president also wants states to suspend their own gas taxes or find other ways to help consumers.
