Protests continued late into the evening Saturday outside the White House.

The White House lights were seen going out for the evening, but that didn't stop people from continuing to stand out front.

President Trump addressed the protesters on Twittershortly after 10 p.m. last night.

He wrote that the crowd was 'much smaller' than had been predicted.

He also praised police, the National Guard and the Secret Service for doing a 'fantastic job'.

People have gathered outside the President's home and around the city in recent days to protest racism, police brutality and the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

More protests are expected today.
