LAUREL COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) — Deputies are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in Laurel County early Saturday morning.
According, to the Laurel County Sheriff's office, deputies were dispatched to a home off Highway 490 in East Bernstadt just after 2:20 a.m.. A domestic argument between a married couple turned deadly. Officials say that James Tyler McCowan, 35, was shot at least twice with a pistol.
McCowan was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will be conducted in Frankfort. No one has been charged at this time and the case will be presented to a Laurel County Grand Jury.
