Victim in Wayne Co. bulldozer accident dies in hospital

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Fayette County Coroner's Office has announced that a man has died at UK Hospital following a bulldozer accident in Wayne County.

The coroner says Bobby Kay New, 73, was involved in a bulldozer accident around 2:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon on private property just off Highway 1275 South in Wayne County.

Officials say New was performing maintenance on the bulldozer when the accident happened.

New was taken to a local hospital, and then flown to UK Hospital where he later died. He was pronounced dead by the Fayette County Coroner's office yesterday just before 6:00 p.m.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is now investigating.
