W. Va. man's police chase goes viral, authorities aren't laughing

MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (MTN) — A Mingo County man is in jail after being arrested during a viral chase with authorities on the grounds of the local high school.

According to Mountain Top News, Zachary Fowler was arrested while driving and charged with several criminal counts, including reckless driving, assault of a school employee, battery, felony fleeing police in a vehicle and destruction of property.

Students at the school caught the chase between Fowler's ATV and law enforcement and added music. The post went viral very quickly.

In the video, deputies are shown in pursuit of Fowler on the campus of Mingo Central High School.

During the pursuit, the vehicle enters an empty grass field at the school and performs several turns, throwing dirt and debris into the air.

Fowler was taken into custody. Friends of Fowler have started a gofundme to cover his legal expenses, but authorities want to remind his supporters that what he did was very dangerous.
