LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington police need your help identifying two people who police say were seen stealing from a convenience store earlier this month.

“Obviously this was premeditated. They knew what they were going to steal,” said Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department.

The two made it out with $2,000 worth of Juul vape pens.

“They go behind the counter and help themselves to whatever they want, just start loading up,” said Thomas.

They had their faces covered, which is a violation of Circle K policy. They were asked by the clerk to uncover, but the two disregarded what she said.

They never threatened violence and never even spoke. Police say they have no reason to believe the two were armed.

Thomas said that he believes the Juul pens the two stole were not for their own use.

“These things are getting more and more popular, so this is not going to be hard for them to turn around, and people out there buying these things should, or have a reasonable knowledge, that these are stolen given the quantity these guys have,” said Thomas.
