18-year-old man killed in Lexington shooting, Fayette County Coroner's Office says

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — An 18-year-old has died Thursday evening following a shooting in Lexington.

The Fayette County Coroner's Office says 18-year-old Dominico Cloyd died from a gunshot wound shortly after 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. His manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Sergeant Donnell Gordon with the Lexington Police Department says the shooting happened shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23. Officers were dispatched in the 700 block of N. Upper Street for a shots fired call at that time.

Cloyd was found in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he died several days later.
